Miss. Janet has Tovin doing many different activities during the hour they spend together. He's walking, sitting, squatting, reaching, going on his toes, on his belly, swinging, playing and most of all having a great time while working through all of these activities.
Tovin is able to attend to each task for as long as Miss. Janet wants him to. I'm surprised by his attention span and his ability to fight through his own muscle discomfort. These tasks would seem very easy to accomplish for someone who was nurtured and loved all there life, but for Tovin they are difficult. We can already see improvements in his abilities, but he has a long road ahead of him!
It is common to see Tovin having a joyful smile on his face or to hear Tovin grunting while working hard to compete an assignment. Miss. Janet said he was quite a grunter!
Tovin especially enjoyed the window markers. After therapy we ended up going to the store to pick up some for him to play with at home! Let's just say our windows are covered!
Tovin doesn't especially care for the block activity shown below. First of all he's on his tummy and second of all he is having to reach out to get to the blocks, once again I'll state - all while laying on his belly...not his favorite position to be in! Right now his upper body strength is so very weak!
He enjoyed walking up the mountain, but coming down...not so much!
Tovin then met with Miss. Anna for speech services. Anna is working with on Tovin spontaneously saying a word without someone telling him to say the word. He is doing well with receptive language, but is still struggling with expressive language; it's coming slowly but surely.
His favorite activity with Miss. Anna is Mr. Potato Head...he definitely knows all of his body parts!
I didn't get this posted from last night, but that was pretty much our day yesterday. Addison's swimming lessons were cancelled because of the weather...she was so sad about that...I'm just kidding!
