Prayers Answered!

And the miracles continue to roll Tovin's way!

Many prayers were said this afternoon for Tovin to be relieved of his nagging pain, and YES, our prayers were answered late this afternoon in such a big way!  We have our Tovin back!  There are no more whimpers, moans or grunting from our tiger!  He is finally peaceful!

He still has some junk in his lungs that make him sound really tough.  The nurses compare this sound to a wash machine, but Dr. Rios doesn't seem alarmed by his sound.  Tovin has started to cough again!  This is a major step for him!  This afternoon he was in so much pain that he wouldn't even try to cough so they had to use the cough assist machine, hopefully he will not need this machine again!  It didn't appear to be very pleasant!

Tovin has also been able to start eating ice chips and have some water though a sponge.  He is loving that!

We have been blessed to be only one floor above the Ronald McDonald House at Children's.  We have been able to eat all of our meals in the RMD dinning room, and we stayed last night in one of their guest rooms.  This is such an amazing service to all the families that have children being treated at Children's.

The meals have been top notch!  Tonight's group that served was from Allina Heath Services.  We were treated to meatloaf, a baked potato, sweet corn, a lettuce salad and of course multiple treats to choose from.  We would love to be able to repay this service one day by having our extended family help us to provide and serve a meal.  It would be a great service project, one that would have personal meaning for us!

The RMD house is beautiful!  There are three main rooms, two sitting rooms and then a large kitchen.   There are fourteen guest rooms that can be reserved for a night.  There are so many families in need of this service; what a wonderful thing it is!  Jason was even able to get an hour workout in on the stationary bike in the back.  The also have a treadmill for people crazy enough to enjoy running!

There was a delightful, little girl that came through fourth floor today with her mom handing out birthday gifts.  Tovin was given this board book and a Little Peoples whale.  We didn't get the little girl's name, but she was delivering presents on her sister's birthday...her sister passed away two years ago from complications beyond what they could do for her here in the CVCC (Cardiovascular Care Center, if I didn't put that in before).

I was able to read Tovin his new book during one of the periods he was awake this evening, he relaxed a bit and dosed off for a short while.  Just before I read to him he was squirming a bit, trying to get Jason to give him some more ice chips; I'm so glad to have our determined little man back!

He's asleep now, hopefully for a night of peaceful rest...we'll see.
