This is a picture of our beautiful room...Sorry the rest of the pictures are kind-of gross...
Okay so my guess of getting out tomorrow is a little off! He is still discharging so much fluid from his chest they are not comfortable taking his chest tubes out. The doctors are thinking it's because he went so long not being repaired that his pressures are off. I'm fine with staying longer, it's actually kind-of nice because it's giving his incision more time to heal! I really do miss Jason and Addison though!
The team of doctors also mentioned today during morning rounds that Tovin's blood sugar has been running low while he has been here. The doctors are surprised by this, they typical see children under stress have high sugar levels. They are going to consult with the endocrinologists about their concern. I really don't know how that is happening because his diet here has consisted of pudding, jello, fruit snacks, yogurt, cranberry and apple juice. He has consumed some healthy items, but more sugar filled!
This morning Toivn had an echo cardiogram done, saw the skin specialist about his face, and had tons of blood taken. Tovin did well during the echo cardiogram until the wand (camera) went by his incision. He was done after that!
The skin specialist is very please with how his scar on his face is healing. She said that with a wound so deep it will take at least a year and a half to heal. After these two appointments he had an appointment with his nurse Meg. The doctors wanted her to take 100 ml of blood from him and exchange it with saline this morning to see if they could bring his hemoglobin level down. This morning it was at 19.something...they want it lower than that! With this exchange he went down to 17.something. They were pleased with the results and decided they wanted to do it again this afternoon.
"Check out my rockin potty chair that dad got me. He said that I couldn't be expected to keep using Addison's Dora one anymore, nor was the "cute" colorful one mom got me good enough either. That's right, it looks like a football! I'm just glad that while mom keeps taking pictures of me in the bathroom that I at least get to pee and poop while sitting on a football! Thanks dad!"
News from home...Addison went home sick today from school. Jason and I both were wondering if she was really sick or just had to use the bathroom, but decided that she should go home even if it was just to rest. Addison struggles with the same digestive issues that Tovin has struggled with. Miralax will be a morning routine for both of the kids!
Thanks Cousin Mallory for coming over tonight!
Good Night from Tovin who is sitting on the throne again!

We keep on praying for your family as you go through this with Tovin. Tovin is such a fighter and so are all of you. Truly inspiring.
